Today while returning towards home from college I only think about the gossip I listen among peoples in morning. It gives pain in my heart. They were just talking about women as they are weak. I was like oh my god how dare they could talk about female in negative sense as they had forgotten that they are the sons of female. How could they forget how much pain did she handle during her pregnancy. At morning I want to clarify them as women aren’t weak but I was too late for my college and now I think to write those thoughts here.
If girls are weaker then why more than 70% of female are there in my law school. If women are weaker then why they dare to choose law subjects which consists politics, international laws etc, which only relate to hard work, more study, difficult task, then I keep on thinking that in society among all many people are set up by negative thinking as women should always be backward. They wants male dominated society. Why didn’t they remember the brave women who contributed in Nepal’s development such as of present time Anuradha Koirala. They only thought that marriage determine the way of life of a women.
Previously the women were always kept backward from male. Women’s situation is very poor in health, education, participation, income generation, etc. But in the 10 years Maoist movement the women and men both came together in battle field. They carry guns. There seems to be more participation and changes of women.
There is gradual development of women in Nepal. In present context, our president is a women who is the head of state and government. There is 33% of participation of women in political sectors. There are three women from each state elected for lower house. Along with this, beside urban areas in rural areas there is severe problem regarding women. There is polyandry system as one women marries all brothers of another home. And the girls are more illiterate in villages, rural areas and became the victims of rape. The females are not much more safe as the rape case are many more in court, but not sufficient lawyers to work or look after it.
Being a law student and future social engineer I have so much responsibility towards society. I have to work for my society and give services. Women development is much more needed and we (female) have to show that we are not weak and can serve our nation and developed it.
Thank you MADAT NEPAL for supporting, helping and encouraging me to study. I will do my best to gain good marks and learn many more. Me, dad and family all are very grateful towards you. Thank you so much for helping, supporting Nepalese children.
